Message from Symposium Organising Committee

On behalf of the hosting organisations, The Drug and Alcohol Office and Western Australian Network for Alcohol and other Drug Agencies (WANADA), welcome to the 17th Western Australian Drug and Alcohol 2010 Symposium website. This much anticipated event will take place from 31st August to 1st September 2010 at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle, Western Australia.

The Symposium Organising Committee comprises of the Drug and Alcohol Office, WANADA, Curtin University of Technology, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, The University of Notre Dame Australia and Healthway. This Symposium will bring together international, national and local speakers to present evidence-based research and emerging practice in policy, prevention, harm reduction, law enforcement strategies and treatment including pharmacotherapies.

Building on the success of sixteen previous symposia held in Western Australia, the 17th Symposium will provide numerous opportunities for professional networking, collaboration, discussion, debate and reflection around the Symposium’s theme “Hope, Hype or Hard Evidence? Alcohol and Other Drugs Practice in the New Millennium”.
